4.     National Nuclear Science Week - The 2nd Annual National Nuclear Science Week will take place the week of January 24, 2011. The event will be a national, broadly observed week-long celebration to advance public awareness of the benefits of nuclear science and technology. The NA-YGN Public Information Committee is encouraging local chapters to plan outreach activities during that week by offering a $500 voucher for NA-YGN clothing to the chapter who conducts the most impressive activity. Contact pi@na-ygn.org for more information.

5.     KICK START YOUR 2011 PUBLIC OUTREACH EFFORTS with the next Webinar on Monday, January 24 at 1:30 EDT / 10:30 PDT. 2011 is upon us and by now many of you have probably already started to be bombarded with requests to speak to local schools, attend career fairs and/or community meetings. Your Professional Development (PD) committee would like to take a minute to re-acquaint you with your Public Information (PI) committee and tools that are available for you to use during your next public outreach activity.  Listen and learn about what exciting events the PI committee has in store for 2011 such as: Nuke 101, Blue Ribbon Commission meeting support, and let’s not forget about Roddy! Local Chapter Leads ensure that you register your chapter by Friday, January 21, 2011, for the webinar on upcoming PI committee activities. Please register as a chapter due to the number of conference lines available. If you have any questions, please email them to webinar@na-ygn.org
