NA-YGN Announcements:
1. IYNC2012 Registration Is Now Open - The 2012 North American Young Generation in Nuclear (NA-YGN) annual workshop will be held in conjunction with the International Youth Nuclear Congress (IYNC) bi-annual meeting August 5-11 in Charlotte, N.C. Click here to register.

- Public Information Workshops for IYNC! Please Sign Up!
o Risk Communication – Participants will learn to effectively communicate when there are perceived high risks.
o IYNC/NA-YGN Teacher Workshop – PI Outreach Day – Come help us teach the local teachers about nuclear science and technology! IYNC/NA-YGN participants will help facilitate a workshop for local teachers and will learn how to facilitate a teacher workshop to bring back to their chapters.
- NA-YGN Video Testimonies – Have something to say about nuclear? Participants will be asked if they want to give a video testimony about their jobs (what they like, why they chose nuclear) and what they like about NA-YGN. Participants may also talk about other nuclear related topics of their choosing. Videos will be edited and posted on tube. Times for interviews will be communicated prior to the conference and during the conference. Check us out!
2. Spring Go Nuke is now available.
3. Please welcome our newest NA-YGN chapters, Vogtle 3&4 and Transnuclear! Vogtle 3&4 is a combined chapter, composed of young professionals from Shaw, Westinghouse, and Southern Company. They held a chapter kickoff on May 23, with an attendance of approximately 150 people! The Vogtle 3&4 chapter is in the Southeast Region, located in Waynesboro, Georgia. The chapter leads are Nicole Moogalian (Shaw), Peter Shaw (Westinghouse), and Morgan McElwee (Southern). The Transnuclear chapter recently kicked off and is quickly gaining momentum. They are located in the Atlantic Region, in Columbia, MD. The chapter lead is Abbey Donahue. With the additions of Vogtle 3&4 and Transnuclear, NA-YGN now has 99 local chapters!
4. The NA-YGN Benchmarking Committee is pleased to announce the public issuance of the 2012 NA-YGN Career Report. This report represents data from over 1400 NA-YGN members from all across the United States and Canada. The report addresses responses from young nuclear professionals on topics including demographics, salary, job satisfaction, work hours, and NA-YGN satisfaction. For example, this survey found that the strongest factor affecting job satisfaction is the availability of advancement and growth opportunities. Want to read more? 5. The NA-YGN Atlantic Regional Event will be held Friday June 22 through Saturday June 23 at the Bechtel Corporate Office in Frederick, MD. For more information and to register, please visit https://sites.google.com/site/atlanticnaygn/. The Atlantic Regional event is open to all NA-YGN members.
6. NA-YGN is looking for candidates to fill the Atlantic Regional Lead and Northeast Regional Lead positions. Previous experience in local chapter leadership is highly recommended for this position. Candidates should send a resume and a short statement describing why they want the position to usa@na-ygn.org.
