NA-YGN Announcements:

 

1.     Interested in career development?  How about running for a Core position?  Vice President, Communications Chair, Public Information Chair, US Affairs Chair and Mexican Affairs Chair are all up for election.  If interested, please contact kurzeja@na-ygn.org.

2.     Get ready for elections by updating your membership information. Login and make sure your information is up to date.  If you have forgotten your membership information click here.  Also check out the list of Local Chapters by Clicking here and make sure your chapter information is correct.  If you’ve recently created a website like Entergy-River Bend you will want to get it added to the list.

3.     NA-YGN has kicked off a new initiative called +One. This project is a joint knowledge transfer and professional development initiative targeted at helping NA-YGN members become engaged with the industry's technical decision making activities. The first +One program with the Nuclear Energy Institute is ready to receive applications. Interested individuals can learn more about +One by clicking here.

4.     The Winter Issue of GoNuke! is looking for authorsif you like to write and have something to say about Public Information please contact communications@na-ygn.org.

5.     Check out the Public Information - Video Committee’s video testimonials on the NA-YGN’s Youtube channel.  Testimony was collected at last May’s PD Conference in San Francisco, CA.  If you are interested in joining with the Video Committee or  would like to submit a NA-YGN testimonial on one of these topics (attached), please contact Christine Csizmadia at video@na-ygn.org or blog about it on www.cleanenergyinsight.org.

6.     Save the Date for the 2011 NA-YGN Professional Development Conference!  The 2011 NA-YGN PD Conference will be held from May 8 – 10, 2011 in Washington, DC.  Please contact Adam Borcz at pd@na-ygn.org if you are interested in volunteering.  More information to come.

7.     On October 13, 2010, the PD committee successfully sponsored a webinar on the status of Yucca Mountain and over 200 NA-YGN members from our chapters far and wide participated. The discussion covered the current political climate around the possible fuel repository and contingency plans that are being looked and the legal climate that exists for the utilities until the long awaited decision is made. I would like to thank our speakers, Marshall Cohen of NEI and Vincent Zabielski of PSEG Nuclear for taking the time to share their knowledge and experience with us.
