discussion on "Nuclear Energy in the Political Arena". The
discussion will include his insights on the political perspective of nuclear
power in Washington DC, public policy issues Mr. Flint and his team face, and
his thoughts on where the industry is headed with the Obama Administration and

development opportunity at a technical society meeting, the deadline to submit
summaries for the 1st Embedded Topical at the 2009 Young Professionals Congress
has been extended until June 24th! Submit
summaries at http://www.ans-ypc.org/.
The
Young Professionals Congress is jointly organized by the Young Members Group of
the American Nuclear Society and the North American Young Generation in Nuclear
to provide a forum for young professionals from across the nuclear industry to
come together to discuss the challenges facing the next generation of nuclear
professionals. Within this venue, young professionals have the opportunity to
develop non-technical professional skills, network among their peers and
explore the roles and functions of industry organizations, such as ANS and
NA-YGN. The YPC is held each odd numbered year, and is being organized as a
multi-day embedded topical meeting for the first time in 2009. Being a part
of YPC2009 also gives participants full access to the 2009 ANS Winter Meeting,
Technology Expo and 2009 Risk Management Embedded Topical!

“Enhancing Our World Through Nuclear Technology” and runs 20-24 July in Washington DC. You can save $100 on

International Youth Nuclear Congress 2nd
Call
for Papers. The
IYNC2010 conference will be held the week after the 2010 FIFA Soccer World Cup.
The conference location is the City of Cape Town located in the Western Cape Province.
The venue is the internationally renowned Cape Town International Convention
Center (CTICC), which is situated at the foot of the famous Table
Mountain. The Deadline for Abstract Submission is August
3, 2009 and Abstracts should be submitted here.

Speaks to the Republicans
NA-YGN
participated in a republican hearing on new nuclear last week. Michael Kurzeja,
president of NA-YGN joined David Blee, executive director, U.S. Nuclear
Infrastructure Council, Scott Campbell, president, American Council on Global
Nuclear Competitiveness and Alex Flint, senior vice president, Nuclear Energy
