NA-YGN Announcements:

From the President:  I could not send out this announcement today without taking a moment to reflect on the tragedies that occurred 8 years ago. On the anniversary of the tragic events of September 11th, my thoughts and prayers go to the victims, their families, and all those who sacrifice to defend freedom throughout the world. We are forever in your debt.

1.       Roddy the Fuel Pellet is back for the 11th annual Poster Contest to educate 4th and 5th grade students about the wonders of nuclear science and technology!  We’ve got the basics to help your presentation to your local schools inspire the best posters from these students by the deadline of October 30, 2009. Any questions email mailto:pi@na-ygn.org.

2.       Good News! The deadline for submitting abstracts for the 2010 IYNC has been extended. The new deadline is Monday, September 14, 2009. It is a great way to represent your company, develop your presentation skills, create an international network, and give you something to brag about on your performance appraisal. Questions about technical tracks should be directed to Canada’s own Bharath Nangia.

The IYNC2010 conference will be held the week after the 2010 FIFA Soccer World Cup in South Africa. The conference location is the City of Cape Town located in the Western Cape Province. The venue is the internationally renowned Cape Town International Convention Center (CTICC), which is situated at the foot of the famous Table Mountain.

3.       Better News! IYNC is looking for help reviewing the Abstracts and Papers for the above. Each Track has a Track Chair, who assigns and coordinates reviews between reviewers as well as performs several reviews. If you are looking for a challenging (read time consuming) project please apply. However if this is your first year and would like to dabble in helping please forward your resume to Canada’s own Bharath Nangia and request to be a Reviewer. You will also need to indicate which tracks you have experience and interest in helping with. It will be forwarded to the respective Track chair.
