NA-YGN Announcements:

 

1.     Roddy the Fuel Pellet is back for the 11th annual Poster Contest to educate 4th and 5th grade students about the wonders of nuclear science and technology!  We’ve got the basics as well as lots of details and example documents to help your presentation to your local schools inspire the best posters from these students by the deadline of October 30, 2009. 2.     The Young Professional Congress Meeting Registration is OPEN! The YPC embedded topical registration fee is included as part of the registration fee for the 2009 ANS Winter Meeting and Nuclear Technology Expo. For ANS Young Members, the registration fee is $530.00 (USD) if paid by October 19, 2009. After that date, the registration fee for ANS Young Members is $630.00 (USD).

 

Hotel Registration is also open until October 19, however the reduced rate fills up quickly.

 

3.     Okay, I definitely thought there were more runners…So far I am the ONLY one registered for the Regional Event in the Atlantic Region. The DC Chapter of NA-YGN is sponsoring the November 15, 2009 The Colonel Ripley Memorial Fuel for Life 5K benefiting the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund in Annapolis, MD. A NA-YGN team has been set up as “Fueled by Atoms.”  The 5k run is the Sunday before the ANS Winter Meeting and YPC embedded topical, so those of you visiting from out of town may also participate! Bring your running gear!

 

4.     Applications for the sixth annual WNU Summer institute are now open. It will be held 3 July - 14 August 2010 at University of Oxford, United Kingdom. Applications are due by November 27, 2009.

 

5.     Save the Date!  The 2010 NA-YGN Annual Professional Development Conference will be held May 15-17, 2010 in San Francisco, CA.  Mark your calendars and plan to attend.  More information will be coming out soon.  Questions in the meantime? Contact the Professional Development Chair.
