NA-YGN Announcements:
1. Atlantic Regional Meeting Registration is Now Open: The Atlantic Regional Conference will take place August 20th in Lynchburg, VA. Registration closes on August 5th. Please visit the event website for additional information and to register: https://sites.google.com/site/atlanticnaygn/ The event will include an opportunity to participate in the Global Fuel Cycle Activity and a variety of outdoor activities for the afternoon - including Tubing down the James River. 2. The Midwest 2011 regional conference on Operating Experience will be hosted by Sargent & Lundy L.L.C. in downtown Chicago, on Friday August 12th, 2011, with an evening reception is offered for all attendees on Friday night at the Sargent and Lundy Auditorium located at 55 E. 3. 2011 International Nuclear Energy Olympiad - World Nuclear University and the Korean Nuclear Energy Promotion Agency are now accepting student applications for the first International Nuclear Energy Olympiad. This unique nuclear awareness competition will take place September 26-30, 2011 in Seoul, South Korea. Ten teams of two will be awarded an all expense paid trip to present their plans to increase public acceptance of nuclear energy in their home country. Applications are online<http://www.nuclearolympiad.org/> and are due by July 3, 2011.
4. The International Youth Nuclear Congress (IYNC) is co-hosting the 2012 NA-YGN Professional Development Conference, the IYNC 2012. This will be the first time since 2004 that the IYNC will be hosted in North America. NA-YGN is proud to co-host this exceptional conference in Charlotte, North Carolina from August 5-11, 2012. The IYNC 2012 conference will supplement NA-YGN's annual professional development conference with new technical tracks, workshops, and tours. Young professionals and students from around the world will have the opportunity to present their research papers to an audience of their peers. 5. Please welcome our newest chapter of NA-YGN: PPL -Susquehanna. The PPL -Susquehanna Chapter is in the Northeast Region, in Berwick, PA. NA-YGN Announcements:

2. On Sunday, June 5, the Canadian region of NA-YGN hosted its annual professional development seminar at the Canadian Nuclear Society conference, which was held in Niagara Falls, Ontario. We had 65 enthusiastic members in attendance to witness some very interesting presentations discussing:
* Nuclear FAQs - The author of www.nuclearfaq.ca presented interesting facts about the Canadian nuclear industry
* The People Puzzle - Gaining an insight into our own personalities and how our personality influences our relationships with others
* MBA versus M. Eng: "What's the Value Proposition?" -Four NA-YGN members discussed experiences with completing their masters degrees
* Sustainable Development: A Uranium Mining Perspective

5. In March, the EPA released a draft rule to the Clean Water Act Section 316(b). This rule may force some power plants to install unnecessary environmental technologies would drive up energy costs and affect everyone's bottom line.
As nuclear advocates, we need to take action and provide comments to the EPA to impact the 316(b) final rule. The comment period closes on July 19, 2011. The EPA is currently accepting comments, click the 'Take Action' button to make a difference.
