NA-YGN Announcements:
1. NA-YGN Elections: Elections will open in mid-March, but the candidate biographies<http://www.na-ygn.org/newelection/> are now available on the NA-YGN website. Members can learn more about the candidates by registering for the "Meet the Candidates" webinar on February 23 at 2 p.m. Eastern. 2. The Canadian Nuclear Association wants your questions for its panellists at the 2012 CNA Conference and Trade Show on February 22-24, in Ottawa, ON. 4. Share your NNSW efforts with the world. If you would like to post any of your National Nuclear Science Week (NNSW) activities on Clean Energy Insight<http://www.cleanenergyinsight.org/>, please send a write up and any photos/videos to Mike Bloom and Carrington Dillon at cleanenergyinsight(a)na-ygn.org<mailto:cleanenergyinsight@na-ygn.org>. 5. NA-YGN would like to welcome our new Membership Chair, Sandra Stewart, membership(a)na-ygn.org<mailto:membership@na-ygn.org>.
6. We ask that members review the four potential award types and then nominate individuals, groups, or local chapters for these awards. We are looking for nominations for activities accomplished only during the 2011 calendar year.

Given to individuals or groups who have put in significant effort during 2011 to accomplish NA-YGN's mission.

Given for the efforts of an individual or a group that best exemplifies the mission of NA-YGN to prepare and plan for the future of the young generation in the field of nuclear science and technology in an innovative or unique way.
Chapter Achievement Award- http://www.quia.com/sv/560492.html
This award recognizes the efforts of local NA-YGN chapters for services related to the growth of members through social, community service, and professional growth activities.
Founder's Award- http://www.quia.com/sv/562127.html
This is the highest award given by NA-YGN to an individual. It is presented to a member of NA-YGN who exemplifies the efforts of the organization's Founders.
7. Public Information is looking for volunteers! There are volunteer opportunities in the following areas: Student Education, IYNC Outreach Workshop, Social Media, Clean Energy Insight, and Regional Outreach. Levels of participation vary from writing a blog about your chapter to leading an initiative across North America! NA-YGN Announcements:
1. We want to hear from YOU - it's time for the 2012 NA-YGN Career Survey! The NA-YGN benchmarking committee has released the survey for all members, and your participation is vital to our success! CLICK HERE TO TAKE THE SURVEY<https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/NAYGN-Career-2012>. The survey will take just a couple minutes of your time, is anonymous, and will provide the committee with data for the 2012 NA-YGN Career Report. Act now - the survey closes on February 13rd. Help us reach our goal of a 60% member response rate. The chapter with the highest percentage of participation will receive a prize! Questions? 3. Los Alamitos is conducting an on-line survey about San Onofre. They are asking the public to decide if San Onofre should be decommissioned because the Nuclear Regulatory Commission reported that a small radiation leak (that does not pose any danger to the public) may have escaped to the atmosphere. 4. Please welcome our newest NA-YGN local chapter, Savannah River (SR-YGN)! With the addition of SR-YGN, there are now 98 local chapters of NA-YGN. SR-YGN is in the Carolinas region, located in Aiken, South Carolina. The chapter lead is Aria Behrouzi -contact information can be found on the NA-YGN website<http://www.na-ygn.org/localchapter2/docs/localchapters.pdf>.

9. +One - The American Nuclear Society (ANS) is now accepting nominations for their committees. This is a great opportunity for NA-YGN members to grow professionally.
