Call to Action: Attend a Town Hall Meeting Near You!
The Nuclear Advocacy Network is asking for our help. As the nuclear situation continues to
unfold in Japan, Members of Congress will be headed back to their home states for recess
this coming week. Nuclear Advocates, we need your help!
The Nuclear Advocacy Network needs to debunk the inaccurate information and show our
legislators not only the solid support our industry was built on, but the industry
commitment to safety and security, through steps already being taken right now, and will
be further taken once the events in Japan are thoroughly analyzed and understood, and
their relationships, if any, to U.S. reactor designs and safety preparations.
As President Obama said: "Our nuclear power plants have undergone exhaustive study,
and have been declared safe for any number of extreme contingencies ... but when we see a
crisis like the one in Japan, we have a responsibility to learn from this event, and to
draw from those lessons to ensure the safety and security of our people."
