NA-YGN Announcements:
1. The PI Chair is looking for a chair for the Video Committee. This is a great way
to develop skills that will help your leadership abilities or take on a little bit of
leadership if your job responsibilities aren't there yet.
2. The Young Professional Congress Meeting Registration is
OPEN<https://secure.ans.org/meetings/winter/registration/>! The YPC embedded topical
registration fee is included as part of the registration fee for the 2009 ANS Winter
Meeting and Nuclear Technology Expo. For ANS Young Members, the registration fee is
$530.00 (USD) if paid by October 19, 2009. After that date, the registration fee for ANS
Young Members is $630.00 (USD).

until October 19, however the reduced rate fills up quickly.
3. Good News! The deadline for submitting abstracts for the 2010 IYNC has been
extended. The new deadline is Monday, September 14, 2009. If you know anything about one
of the following topics you should submit an Abstract
here<http://www.conftool.com/iync2010>. It is a great way to represent your company,
develop your presentation skills, create an international network, and give you something
to brag about on your performance appraisal. Questions about technical tracks should be

The
IYNC2010<http://www.iync.org/congresses/iync2010.html> conference will be held
the week after the 2010 FIFA Soccer World Cup in South Africa. The conference location is
the City of Cape Town located in the Western Cape Province. The venue is the
internationally renowned Cape Town International Convention Center (CTICC), which is
situated at the foot of the famous Table Mountain.
4. Better News! IYNC is looking for help reviewing the Abstracts and Papers for the
above. Each Track has a Track Chair, who assigns and coordinates reviews between reviewers
as well as performs several reviews. If you are looking for a challenging (read time
consuming) project please apply. However if this is your first year and would like to
dabble in helping please forward your resume to Canada's own Bharath
Nangia<mailto:BHARATH.NANGIA@brucepower.com?subject=IYNC%20technical%20tracks> and
request to be a Reviewer. You will also need to indicate which tracks you have experience
and interest in helping with. It will be forwarded to the respective Track chair.
5. Roddy the Fuel Pellet is back for the 11th annual Poster Contest to educate 4th and
5th grade students about the wonders of nuclear science and technology! We've got the

to help your presentation to your local schools inspire the best posters from these

6. The summer issue of Go Nuke! is

Read up! And now we are getting ready for the October issue of Go Nuke. The general focus
is what you can do with/for your career in nuclear. If you are interested in writing an
article (we have a few people identified to interview) or articles you would like to see,

articles need to be submitted by September 15, 2009.
