NA-YGN Announcements:
1. Plans for the annual Southeast Regional Conference are well under way. The
conference will be hosted by Florida Power and Light and will be held at the Jupiter Beach
Resort in Jupiter Florida November 2-4. Registration will open soon and be accessible via
the new Southeast Region website:

Southeast Region will sponsor a beach clean-up along with Friends of Jupiter
Beach<http://friendsofjupiterbeach.com/>, a nonprofit organization, at the SE
regional conference on Friday, Nov. 4.
2. It's the for the 13th Annual NA-YGN Drawing Contest! This year's theme is,
"Roddy Nuclear Powers the World." Check out the NA-YGN

for rules and planning timeframes on how your chapter can present to 4th and 5th graders
on nuclear science and technology. Last year over 1,000 posters were submitted reaching
students all over North America. Help us reach out to more students this Fall before the
deadline of October 21, 2011.
3. We need your help! The NA-YGN Benchmarking Committee is looking for volunteers
and a committee lead to help with a member survey. If interested, please email Kristin

4. Please participate in a survey on improving communications about Japan - Following
the accident at Fukushima Daiichi this spring, we have all been engaged in telling the
story of our industry and the value we bring to our communities and the U.S. We would
like your insights from the conversations you have had - whether to an audience of 50 or
with your friends and neighbors - we'd like to learn what you've been hearing.
The nuclear industry will use this information to create products that nuclear supporters
like you can use to help the public better understand our industry and address the issues
that arise. Please take a few moments to complete the survey through the link below.

5. NA-YGN members are invited to join the Young Professionals Congress, which is
jointly organized by the Young Members Group of the American Nuclear Society and the
NA-YGN. Within this venue, young professionals have the opportunity to develop
non-technical professional skills, network among their peers and explore the roles and
functions of industry organizations, such as ANS and NA-YGN.
Being a part of YPC2011 also gives participants full access to the 2011 ANS Winter
Meeting, Technology Expo and 2011 Small Modular Reactor Embedded Topical!
This year's ANS Winter Meeting will be held at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington
DC on October 31st-November 3rd. Early registration deadline is October 7, 2011.

6. NA-YGN's Clean Energy Insight website is look for writers. What did your
NA-YGN Chapter accomplish this summer? Showcase any pro-nuclear advocacy or community

7. IYNC 2012 Call For Papers! The IYNC 2012 conference will supplement NA-YGN's
annual professional development conference with several technical tracks. Young
professionals and students from around the world will have the opportunity to present
